Apply to the Fund
The Medical Center Neighborhood Fund provides vital support to community-based organizations through contributions from staff at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian, and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. One hundred percent of the funds are awarded annually to organizations offering recreational, social, arts, and other essential services to local residents.
Eligible organizations can apply for grants of up to $5,000 through a detailed application and review process. To qualify, organizations must be headquartered in or have a satellite office serving Washington Heights or Inwood.

Organizations must have their own 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or must provide a fiscal conduit with 501(c)3 status along with EIN/TIN number and W-9 form.

Public agencies are not eligible to apply, but public library branches located in CB 12 and after school, non-curricular programs based at public schools in District 6 may apply.

Programs must demonstrate direct benefits to the residents of Washington Heights/Inwood.

Only one application per organization and per program will be considered, regardless of whether it is submitted through a fiscal conduit.

Funds must be spent for new or continuing programs or services, or program related equipment.

Funding may be used for civic education purposes, however, under no circumstances be used for lobbying or partisan political activities. Religious institutions may apply, but the funded program or activity must be equally open to all regardless of faith.

CU Divisions, schools, centers, and departments of CUIMC, NYP, and the NYSPI are not eligible.
