Ways to Support Recently Arrived Migrants

How to help the recently arrived migrants

Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is part of a local coalition formed to respond to the growing humanitarian needs of asylum seekers who have recently arrived in New York City. CUIMC is joined by NewYork-Presbyterian, Holyrood Episcopal Church, Our Saviors Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Francis Cabrini Shrine, Word Up Community Bookshop, and the Dominican Women's Development Center. This coalition of community-based, faith-based, and medical organizations is known as the Mutual Aid Coalition.

CUIMC participants are Columbia medical and dental student volunteers dedicated to meeting the specific needs of the migrant community and their families.

Thus far the efforts of the coalition include
