Seniors AIM High

This program is a collaboration between Columbia University Irving Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian, and the Armory Foundation, offering free fitness exercises for older adults aged 60 and over from Washington Heights-Inwood, Harlem, and the South Bronx. Each week, participants enjoy a one-hour exercise class at the Armory, followed by a 30-minute medical conversation led by healthcare professionals in both English and Spanish. Topics cover various aspects of healthy aging, such as mental health care, diabetes, vaccines, fall prevention, hypertension, and tips for making the most of doctor’s visits. Health professionals from across the medical center volunteer for the program.
With over 750 seniors registered and daily attendance exceeding 200, the program has proven to be a great success. Sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 AM at the Armory Foundation Track and Field.
CUIMC and NYP Faculty and staff interested in leading a health discussion are encouraged to be part of this impactful collaboration. Help empower older adults by completing this form, to support knowledge-sharing and spark meaningful conversations.
