Annual Community Food Drive: Oct 31 - Nov 21
As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to support our neighbors in need through the CUIMC Annual Community Food Drive, a collaboration between the Office of Academic and Community Partnerships and Fresh Youth Initiatives.
Drop Off Locations
• Allan Rosenfield lobby (MSPH, 722 W. 168th St.)
• Hammer Health Sciences Center Lower Level lobby (701 W. 168th St.)
• Black Building lobby (650 W. 168th St.)
• School of Nursing lobby (560 W. 168th St.)
• CUIMC Fall Festival 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Haven Plaza on November 12 (168th St & Fort Washington Ave.)
Suggested Donations - Unexpired & Non-perishable
• Beans (dried, canned)
• Grains (brown rice, oatmeal, pasta)
• Canned fish (tuna, salmon)
• Cooking oils (olive, canola)
• Seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic, chili, cumin, cinnamon)
• Canned fruits and vegetables (cranberry sauce, unsweetened applesauce, tomatoes, soup, vegetables)

Community Partners
Fresh Youth Initatives (FYI) advocates for food justice within the Washington Heights and Inwood communities through culturally relevant food access and food distribution, weekly SNAP screenings and enrollment, organizing seasonal food drives with partner organizations such as the CUIMC Annual Community Food Drive, leading Healthy Eating Habits cooking demonstrations, and farming & sustainable food sourcing.
CUIMC Annual Toy Drive: December 2 - December 18
Help our community celebrate the holidays – join us in our annual toy drive serving local daycare centers, head start programs, and community-based organizations in Washington Heights and Inwood.

- New, unwrapped toys for children ages 3-13
- We encourage toys related to science, technology, engineering, math, and the arts

Support a Local School's Science Program this Holiday Season!
Your department can support science education in Washington Heights this holiday season! We are partnering with local elementary and middle schools to donate supplies for their science curriculum. Watch this video of last year's participants.
